Peterchurch
Peterchurch: Legend says that St. Peter travelled through here on his way to Rome and blessed a spring - now one of three wells - to baptise converts. Alternatively, St. Peter's church features a plaster panel high on one of the walls painted with a fish, perhaps the one with golden neck chains rumoured to have been found in one of the neighbouring pools. In any case, the church has one surprising secret. The upper part of the spire needed urgent renovation but the building fund could not finance replacement stone. So a replica in fibreglass was commissioned and delicately lowered into place.
